Our History
Since 2007, 12:12 Response has been working with local partners in La Romana, DR, to serve the very poor in the bateyes. Founded initially in Chicago, IL, by Barbara Perez (see her story HERE) who was originally born and raised in the DR was never aware that bateyes even existed.
While in La Romana,12:12 Response works in conjunction with the local ministry pastors who we consider our partner Laughing Hearts and our “on the ground” support that not only work with us while our teams are on the ground but also continue to do the work when the teams leave.
The Difference
We Facilitate Safe Learning Spaces
One thing we saw as a need to be filled in short-term missions was a connection to the teams and missions being served. Most short-term mission teams arrive, serve, leave and never see an accomplishment that transforms both the traveler and the community served.
We work with Partners Internationally and Domestic that are already doing great work…we just join them where they are at so they can do more.
